Between the world's pressing challenges and imaginative solutions, there's a bridge

Join Cisco at ISTE 2019 and inspire the next generation of global problem solvers

Today’s teachers are educating students destined to take on — and solve— the world’s greatest challenges. These teachers are rethinking teaching, engaging with students in innovative new ways, and using digital technology to forge connections with a wealth of exciting global resources. They’re eliminating traditional boundaries to help enable student success, and by doing so, they’re inspiring the next generation of global problem solvers.

Join us to see possibility in action at ISTE 2019.

Mars Classroom Simulator

A major solar flare has just hit our classroom on Mars, and systems are shutting down! Our safety and security are in peril! We’re running on back-up power, communications are disabled, and we’ve just been alerted that our oxygen generator is offline. Based on the computer's calculations, we have only enough air for the next 25 minutes. You and your team must get all systems back online before oxygen runs out.

A few tools to support your mission:

  • Maintain a vital communication link with mission control—and with your teammates—with Cisco’s Webex Board, an all-in-one device for team collaboration.
  • Chat instantly with your teammates, and share and store critical data securely with Cisco’s Webex Teams.
  • Send emergency alerts to everyone who should be notified using Singlewire InformaCast Fusion, a single interface for emergency communication.
  • Locate and track potential problems using the machine learning embedded in Cisco Intelligent Edge Video Analytics (CIEVA).
  • Take advantage of a 360-degree view to pinpoint issues, and even access video remotely with Cisco Meraki MV Smart Cameras.
  • Identify and repair possible systems issues with an endpoint management solution, Cisco Meraki Systems Manager.
  • Maintain continuous Internet access with Wi-Fi 6-compatible wireless access points, which offer faster speeds and improved connectivity in challenging environments.

Cisco Active Learning Space

In the Cisco Active Learning Space (Room 106AB), you can learn how Cisco is transforming education through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs and nonprofit partnerships.

We’re offering a robust schedule of one-hour, hands-on, interactive sessions about the latest innovations in STEM education, led by Cisco nonprofit and academic partners.

The Active Learning Space is designed to equip participants with innovative ideas and tools that can be easily translated into the classroom. You can meet some innovative education nonprofits and learn about our leading CSR education programs, including Cisco Networking Academy and the animated Global Problem Solvers: The Series, designed to inspire 4th- to 8th-grade students to solve real-world problems by using technology, entrepreneurial skills, and social innovation.

Look for our schedule of “hosted activities” in the ISTE calendar and register through the links provided.
